"Dinky" Diana Smith

Founder & Creator of MTE TV – Mental Therapy Experience

“Some people survive pain. Others transform it.”

That’s what I chose to do.

Diana Smith—known by many as Dinky—is one of those rare souls who turned her heartbreak into healing for others.

For over two decades, Dinky built a name for herself in the real estate world. But behind the professional success was a quiet storm. In 2011, her daughter Lilly was killed by a drunk driver—on Dinky’s birthday. Just three years earlier, the father of her child's father had also passed away, leaving behind their daughter, Deez. In an instant, Dinky became not only a grieving mother, but also the guardian along, with her husband, of a granddaughter who had just lost both parents.

What followed was nearly seven years of isolation, darkness, and a desperate search for meaning. Dinky read every book she could find on mental health—including the DSM-5—terrified that something was wrong with her. What she found instead was this truth:

Grief doesn't mean you're broken.

It means you're still loving someone who’s no longer here.

Through raw journaling, late-night breakdowns, and quiet faith. Dinky began to rebuild. Not into who she once was—but into someone new. Someone who could sit with others in their pain and say: “You’re not alone. You’re not crazy. You’re still here.”

MTE TV was born from that truth.

The Mission

MTE TV exists to offer comfort, clarity, and community to anyone struggling with mental health, grief, or emotional overwhelm.

This isn’t just programming—it’s a lifeline.

Through shows that speak to real people, in real pain, we’re changing the way the world experiences mental wellness.

Dinky believes healing should feel like being human  --again.

Why She Created MTE TV

Dinky created the Mental Therapy Experience to be a safe, 24/7 space where people could see themselves—messy, healing, human—and not feel ashamed. No fancy guru promises. No toxic positivity. Just shows, stories, and tools that actually help.

Whether you're mourning a person, a dream, a version of yourself, or simply learning to breathe again—MTE TV is for you.

Because Dinky knows what it’s like to not want to get out of bed.

To sit in a room full of people and feel completely invisible.

To be the strong one… until you can’t be anymore.

And she also knows this:

You’re not broken. You’re becoming.

If you’ve ever whispered “me too” into the dark, this network is for you.

Healing doesn’t have to feel like clinical therapy.

It can feel like truth, laughter, and connection.

Welcome to MTE TV. You belong here.
